KFMI Established High-Purity Materials Analysis Center

A fresh start always happens to the beginning of the year ahead. KFMI accomplished another great thing on February 2, 2019, the first working day after Chinese New Year. The opening ceremony of KFMI's High-Purity Materials Analysis Center was held at KFMI Conference Hall. Dr. Lijun Yao, Chairman & CTO of KFMI, together with Dr. Jay Pan, President of KFMI, led KFMI’s Entrepreneur Team to attend the ceremony. It is a historic moment that was witnessed by guest leaders and colleagues from Technology Department and Production Department etc.

The ceremony started at 8:58 a.m. and presided over by Dr. Janey Chen, Director of Analysis and Testing Center. Dr. Danny Zhong, who is responsible for KFMI's High-Purity Materials Analysis Center, presented the development history and status quo of the Center. As a representative enterprise that is mainly engaged in R&D and production of ultra-high-purity metal materials and sputtering target, KFMI has set stringent requirements for the detection of ultra-high-purity metal materials. At the beginning of KFMI's start-up, the detection of all metal materials mainly relied on foreign testing institutions, which is not only time-consuming and costs a lot, but also greatly affected the R&D of ultra-high-purity metal materials in China. Hence, KFMI established its High-Purity Materials Analysis Center to solve this problem. At present, the Center has a variety of high-purity metal precision testing equipment, including Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometer (GDMS), an impurities analysis and testing equipment, and gas analytical instrument (LECO), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Detector (EDX), Electron Back-Scattered Diffraction (EBSD), etc. With two doctors and five masters, the Center has not only gotten hold of the full analysis capability of ultra-high-purity metal materials from purity, gas residue, structure and grain crystalline phase, but also set up an integrated analysis and detection system for high-purity materials and targets.

The unveiling of the eye-catching red silk marks the completion of KFMI's High-Purity Materials Analysis Center. Dr. Danny Zhong and Dr. Janey Chen guided the participants to visit the Center, and then introduced the details thereof at the same time. Determination and confidence of KFMI's people to analyze all kinds of ultra-high-purity materials are seen through these sophisticated devices, young and specialized engineers, as well as professional analysis reports.

On one hand, KFMI's High-Purity Materials Analysis Center will greatly promote the R&D progress of China's ultra-high-purity metal materials in domestic industrialization, on the other hand, it will provide reliable basis and data support for KFMI to manufacture world-class internal structures of target materials. Meanwhile, it indicates that KFMI has walked in the forefront in the field of material analysis. There is no doubt that this will contribute to the national strategy of localizing core raw materials for high-purity metal sputtering targets.
